Berndnaut Smilde : ‘Nimbus’ Series (Probe – Exhibition)

Berndnaut is fascinated by anything in between… Corridors and clouds, not yet there and not yet solid. What if a sculpture were to be nothing but thin air, smoke or scent? We’d discuss the merits of one cloud over the other or would we just shut up in awe.

Idris Khan : “Bernd and Hilla Becher” Works (Photography)

Since 1959 Bernd and Hilla Becher have been photographing industrial structures that exemplify modernist engineering, such as gas reservoirs and water towers. These works are often presented in groups of similar design; their repeated images make these everyday buildings seem strangely imposing and alien. Idris Khan’s Every… Bernd And Hilla Becher… series appropriates the Bechers’ imagery and compiles their collections into single super-images.

Ronan Guillou : ‘Colour Photography’ ( Series 1 )

Catching places, cities, glances: Ronan Guillou translates his pleasure and desire for keeping traces of them during his walks. Cities, and the people who animate them, are the basis of his humanistic approach. Aside from his commercial campaigns, Guillou’s personal work records moments of ordinary life, where men and women are photographed during their daily routines in urban landscapes.

Ronan Guillou : Colour Photography ( Series 2 )

If his photographs suggest a poetic vision of the ordinary and call upon the imagination of each and every one of us, they also question us on the temporality [material matter] of places, reveal their nearly organic power as well as their fragility, and examine man’s relationship with the constructed universe.
