Kevin Haas : ‘Chicago Scribed’ (Photogravures)

This series of eight prints uses photographs taken in the city of Chicago through the plexiglass found on public transit shelters, covered with graffiti, dirt and other detritus. The interference of the dust, graffiti and scratches reaffirms both the 2-D surface of the print itself and the separation of the photograph from experience, locating representation within the realm of memory.

Osheen Harruthoonyan: ‘Black Garden’ Series (Photography)

“It’s easy to lose sight of exactly who you are while passing through the ‘Black Garden’. At the start, things are clear, there’s you and there’s the land, you each have your names and the division is simple.

Mario Giacomelli : “Sea and Landscapes” Series

“The image is spirit, matter, time, space, time for eyes. Traces are tests of ourselves and the sign of a culture that lives constantly rhythms that govern memory, history, standards of knowledge.” – M.Giacomelli

Brancolina : ‘Jewish Museum in Berlin’ (Photography)

Nothing is unimportant. There is no place without history, where you can just do what you want. Every place speaks in a unique way. It needs to communicate a certain way and to appeal to people. Architecture is an art of communication – not with words, but with proportions and with an aura. Every building must tell a story. – Daniel Libeskind

Issei Suda : Photography Series

Often his photographs are suspended in time, either one moment too soon or too late, allowing for an unsettling effect on the viewer. His fascination continues in photographic scenes remembered from days past and preserved regardless of time.

Shomei Tomatsu : Photography Series

Tomatsu’s radical approach – his freeform, expressionist style, odd camera angles, strange cropping and framing – has been reappraised and he is now seen, ironically enough, as one of the pioneers of the Provoke era. He is famously reclusive and has never ventured outside Japan.

Reiko Imoto : ‘Dreams of The Amnesiac’ Series (Photography)

This body of work is about my feeling of forgetting. Sometimes I cannot remember my dream after waking up, even though I know I had a dream and I try to recall it very much. What I remember is only a feeling or mood from the dream without visual evidence.

Eikoh Hosoe : Photography Series

“To me photography can be simultaneously a record and a ‘mirror’ or ‘window’ of self-expression. The camera is generally assumed to be unable to depict that which is not visible to the eye. And yet the photographer who wields it well can depict what lies unseen in his memory…”
