João Castilho : ‘Spice’ (Photography)

Photographed in Bolivia’s Uyuni Salt Flats this series forms part of a larger body of work begun in 2008 involving interventions in nature. In the case of Spice, the choice of pepper and saffron spices to make the interventions was inspired by the space itself: a desert of salt. These interventions are inherently ephemeral, and were made to be photographed. The work intersects other forms of art, with elements from painting (the use of pigments) and Land Art (transforming the landscape).

Maria Stromvik : ‘Waterscapes’ Series (Photography)

Maria Stromvik is an amateur photographer who started photographing in the summer of 2009. She grew up by the seaside in southern Sweden, and the sea – as well as water in other forms – is a recurrent theme in many of her photographs. The choice of working in black and white was never really a choice.

Berndnaut Smilde : ‘Nimbus’ Series (Probe – Exhibition)

Berndnaut is fascinated by anything in between… Corridors and clouds, not yet there and not yet solid. What if a sculpture were to be nothing but thin air, smoke or scent? We’d discuss the merits of one cloud over the other or would we just shut up in awe.

Pansa Sunavee : Photography Series

For me, photography is just like a door conveying the aesthetics of art. It is a kind of art created from the real situation around me which can happen every second. Sometimes I seek for the beauty of things surrounded and then shoot them with personal perspectives and feeling towards the objects or incidents.

Ronan Guillou : ‘Colour Photography’ ( Series 1 )

Catching places, cities, glances: Ronan Guillou translates his pleasure and desire for keeping traces of them during his walks. Cities, and the people who animate them, are the basis of his humanistic approach. Aside from his commercial campaigns, Guillou’s personal work records moments of ordinary life, where men and women are photographed during their daily routines in urban landscapes.

Ronan Guillou : Colour Photography ( Series 2 )

If his photographs suggest a poetic vision of the ordinary and call upon the imagination of each and every one of us, they also question us on the temporality [material matter] of places, reveal their nearly organic power as well as their fragility, and examine man’s relationship with the constructed universe.

Ward Roberts – ‘Billions’ Photography Series

One may find the concepts explored in Ward Roberts’ Billions series confronting, given that the images within this series represent a fast-forming reality, predicted to be the dystopian future not so long ago. But the present is never perceived as the future we envisaged in the past.

Charlotte Thoemmes : Photography Series

Natural environments and urbanized areas inspire my images, in which I present questions that range from identity to mortality. In my imagery, I attempt to explore places where a dialog emerges between the inner world of people and the environment
