Bohnchang Koo : ‘White’ Series (Photography)

Bohnchang’s work has always dealt with impermanence, with the decay and disappearance of living things. In his recent work, Koo continues this long journey to capture the fleeting and the mortal. In these spare natural landscapes—the sea, pine needles on snow, dust on a wall, withered vines —the artist renders scenes of exquisite beauty while evoking the inexorable passage of time.

“As for myself, I work the way I do because of the kind of person that I am – my work is an expression of myself. It reflects me, my fascination with people, the physical world around us, and the exciting medium in which I work. I do not claim that my way is the best or the only way, it is simply my way. It is an expression of myself, of the way I think and feel.” – Arnold Newman

Even though most of my work has moved in a different direction, I continue to love to immerse myself in the landscape, trying to push the envelope to go beyond the beautiful.” Linda Butler

Andrey Belkov : ‘Russian Winter’ (Photography)

My friendship with photography started when I was only 5 years old. My father gave me a toy film camera and I made my first photo. I didn’t know how to look at it. Father took my camera, opened it, took out a cassette and went away in to the darkness. He was a great magician. He could take a film and make a picture. I grew up, the magic became a reality

“That tragic, poor, transitional element that is found all over Latin America is encapsulated in those images… The act of binding, of shipping and storing, bespeaks a defenseless class that exists in each of those countries, where there are people who have never owned property and whose only option for conserving what little they have is to bind and enclose it before moving on elsewhere.” – fernell franco

Isa Leshko : ‘Thrills & Chills’ Photography Series

Amusement park rides terrify me, which is why I began photographing them. I am fascinated by what compels people to surrender themselves to these mechanical beasts. The rides seem to challenge the very limitations of being human. We can’t fly; yet these vertigo-inducing machines allow us to soar through the open air. The experience combines elation with fear; thrills with chills.

Paul Klee said “a line is a dot that went for a walk”. And one day – while out walking in Valencia, Berlin and Zurich – the line came across shadow, sky and negative space. These photographs explore the relationship between the four and were inspired directly by the work and friendship of: Gianni Galassi.

Personally, I think that contemporary architecture has given rise to a new vision of dialogues in urbanism, a sort of “RE – interpretation” of its artistic rhythm of progress – whether it be deconstructionist, brutalist, fantastic or expressionist or clearly visionary or even flowing and introverted.

Photography always implies a relationship between a body – the man with a camera – and the world. Even today, photographic gear remains heavy and cumbersome, an impediment. Landscapes, too, are related to the body: we are wandering somewhere about the world when suddenly, without any perceivable signal, reality emerges with force and becomes an image.

Sylvain Lagarde : ‘The dancer upstairs is in my head’ Series

Black and white photography is for me a monochrome expression which is able to go to the spirit of everything because it eliminates the “superficiality” of colors. It doesn’t mean that color does not have its place. Color imposes another vision. But black and white is the way i use to reach essence,

Marc Riboud : Photography Series

French photographer Marc Riboud isn’t easily categorized, because he’s never specialized in any particular area of photography. There are some recurring themes and stylistic idiosyncrasies in his work, but the pictures fall easily into half a dozen different modes of photography. He describes himself as a “shy” photographer, saying “I was torn between the fear of getting too close to people and another force that egged me on to get a closer look.”
